A POEM by AUTUMN C
whatever but i want you to
light me on fire i
will emblaze you my ashes
clump and clay to form the shape of (man)
tell a tale make me believe it i will hold my gaze
until you forget everything but me only me
convince me to dissect humanity to never put back its
shards unbroken build me an altar of pyrite carve
every strand of braided stone weave
songs of praise amongst another watch
the guy step on the top staircase think
about pushing him off i want to see
small tragedies like Echo’s death
and send Icarus his downfall i want to
lick red stains off my forehead
but girls playing god are still mortal
Autumn C (she/her) wrote this in a doctor’s office. She kind of hates this poem. You can find her @autumnplusc on Twitter.
