“I love this. This is like an ultimate summer read, set in a kind of heaven, full of oiled meats, reality television, and sex appeal, presented with an effervescent humor, queerness, and sharp observation. The fun mash-up of genres makes the writing come alive as we search for love and self among the spray tans and boardwalk stands. My favorite line is ‘You are gifted the immaculate clarity of a drunk piss,’ and this book is exactly that—an immaculate clarity that lets it all out against the backdrop of the thumping bass and pumping fists.”
— MM Carrigan, Editor in Chief, Taco Bell Quarterly
"A glittery, tequila-soaked stream of consciousness that pools into philosophical eddies interrogating gender, intimacy, fate, and the Wild West days of reality television. The thrill of fanfic, the poignancy of poetry, the illicit warmth of a tanning bed. A goddamn delight!"
— Aiden Arata
“‘SUPERNORMAL STIMULI’ is fist-pumpingly good. An inventive, queer, and poetic commentary on toxic masculinity and reality T.V. culture. Accola’s writing is fresh, hilarious, unexpected, and sharp.”
— Emily Austin, author of “Everyone in this Room Will Someday be Dead”
